Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is a book written and illustrated by author Dr. Seuss, published in 1990. The story is set in a whimsical, polychromatic landscape where the character “You” journeys through. It’s a classic children’s book that addresses the highs & lows, twists & turns, and opportunities & difficulties of life.
The quote “All Alone! Whether you like it or not, Alone will be something you’ll be quite a lot” was chosen because it is the last point of tension in the narrative arc’s rising action. After this, Dr. Seuss encouragingly repeats “But on you will go… on you will go”.
Within this project, the goal was to visually mirror the book’s juxtapositions by choosing a melancholic quote against a charming background of flowers.
